The Orchid Pavilion

The much talked about Orchid Pavilion promised by Shaukat Fancy on behalf of his friend Prince Disnada Diskul of the Mae Fah Luang Foundation become a reality on the 9th of August 2003.

380 guests at a small commemorative ceremony became a part of history as the Orchid Pavilion was the first Garden to be completed within the Botanical Garden Section of the Race Course Gardens.

The Garden was built in a record time of 40 days by the 12 technicians sent by the Prince.

Karachi's project of building the lungs of Karachi is now becoming a reality - and Karachi has a beautiful new tourist attraction to boast of.

Large varieties of Orchids were flown in as was the entire pavilion.

The Orchid Society's President Mr. Shaukat Amirali Fancy said that this was not just a beautiful garden, but a beginning to building a better environment & a better quality life for our children.

Well done the Orchid Society !

The honour Guests were the Administrator Defence Officer Housing Authority and the Royal Thai Consul General Mr. Praphat Chantaharn.

The citizens of Pakistan are grateful to Mom Rajawongse Disnada Diskul Director General of Mae Fah Luang Foundation.
